Mitch qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 1986 and has over 35 years of clinical experience and 35,000 consultations working in public/private mental health settings and private practice.  Over this time, he has received advanced level training in Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness from international and national experts in the field.

Mitch currently works as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice, as well as providing supervision and training to students and colleagues. Mitch is a Psychology Board approved supervisor and has a specialist interest in supervision/therapy skill development. He has worked in this role since 1995, supervising about 250 University students, therapists and Clinical Psychologists in small group and individual formats during this time. He is regularly invited to conduct ACT workshops for organisations and in 2011 his work was peer reviewed by the international Association for Contextual Behavioural Science and formally recognised as an ACT trainer (one of 5 trainers in Australia).

With 7 years of university training and two years of formal supervision to legally register as a Clinical Psychologist, Mitch has qualifications including a BA (Hons), M Psych (Clinical) and Grad Dip Bus (Man). He is a Member of the College of Clinical Psychologists and a registered Clinical Psychologist under the Medicare and private health insurance systems. This allows clients to receive rebates from their consultations.

Mitch offers evidence based psychological therapy for a variety of problems for people aged 16 and above, offering in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. Every consultation ensures a compassionate, experienced, qualified, professional and skilled therapist working with you to help build a richer and fulfilled life. Mitch has conducted more than 35,000 consultations over the 35 years of practice. In addition to working with a wide range of clients, Mitch provides supervision, teaching and training to students and colleagues studying or working in the field of psychology, counselling and mental health.

Mitch has advanced training in;

  • Psychological therapy (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – ACT)
  • Mindfulness orientated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Schema Therapy which can be applied to any problems or difficulties.

He has specialist interests and experience in the following areas;

  • Anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, eating problems, alcohol problems, as well as management, coaching and sport psychology.
