Jason Leong
Jason Leong has completed 6 years of University study and 2 years of supervision required to become a Clinical Psychologist. He has considerable expertise working with people experiencing life adjustment problems, particularly in their role as a Carer. He appreciates that often there is no practical ‘quick fix’ to a problem and endeavours to help client come to terms with a difficult situation, while encouraging them to take steps towards a life of vitality.
With a warm, empathetic and authentic approach, Jason works extensively using a specialist and evidence based CBT model called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and incorporates principles from attachment theory.
Jason has completed Level 1 and 2 training in the Gottman Method, an evidence-based approach to couples counselling that helps couples connect to a more meaningful relationship and provides practical strategies for improvement.
He enjoys and has experience working with people across the lifespan, from adolescents through to older adults, as well as people from diverse cultural backgrounds and the LGBTI+ community.
Jason welcomes referrals of people aged 13 and above.
